Catarina Munhá não consegue evitar escrever canções, e acredita que a música pode mudar o mundo para melhor. Cantautora em português, expressa-se através de música e letra, que lhe surgem de mão dada, numa espécie de indie-pop de intervenção. Estudou piano e violino no Conservatório de Música da Metropolitana de Lisboa, aprendeu como autodidata a guitarra, o sintetizador, o ukulele, e nem a pandeireta deixou em paz. Lançou o seu álbum de estreia, “Animal de Domesticação”, pela Sony Music Portugal em 2019, onde moram canções bem-humoradas e inquietas, acompanhadas pelo som tropical do seu ukulele, um violino insólito e ocasionais teclas melancólicas. Regressou em 2022 com um novo single, “Cópia Pirata”, e promete continuar a escrever canções que nos façam questionar quem somos, e quem queremos vir a ser.

Catarina Munhá can’t help but write songs and believes that music has the power to change the world for the better. A Portuguese singer-songwriter, she expresses herself through music and lyrics that come to her hand in hand, in a kind of indie-pop with a social conscience.

She studied piano and violin at the Lisbon Metropolitan Music Conservatory and later taught herself guitar, synthesizer, ukulele—and not even the tambourine escaped her curiosity.

She released her debut album, “Animal de Domesticação”, through Sony Music Portugal in 2019, featuring humorous and restless songs accompanied by the tropical sound of her ukulele, an unusual violin, and the occasional melancholic keys. She returned in 2022 with a new single, “Cópia Pirata”, and promises to keep writing songs that make us question who we are—and who we want to become.
